This semester is officially over for me, as i have just written the last few words of my last philosophy paper. It is a good feeling. This morning i had an 8 AM final, which consisted of writing 3 essays that i completed in 35 minutes. I was worried about having enough time to finish because i had a portfolio review at 10...silly me...i should just listen to Amber when she that i would be fine on time and stop fretting about silly things. So, after finishing my final, i burned off about 45 minutes sitting in Kaldi's playing games on my iphone. I then moved over to the art building and set up the display for my portfolio review. I was never nervous about this semester's review because i knew i had done some pretty good work over the past few months. The review consisted of the four directors of the graphic design/interactive design department at maryville walking in, looking at all my work, and telling me what they thought was good about it and what was bad about it. To my surprise, they had no bad things to say about any of my work. My graphic design and web design teachers both proceeded to say that I probably produced the best work of anyone in both of those classes. I really do try to push myself to set the curve in my classes, and i guess that does actually pay off if it's a genuine effort. It was a huge confidence booster and refresher to keep pushing my abilities to what they can be. A very good day, overall. Very happy.
Jacob.
